Op Love Re United

I am a volunteer photographer for a group called Operation Love ReUnited. The chairty is for service members who have orders to deploy or are already deployed and their families. I really enjoy these sessions as much as I wish there wasn't a need for them. Each time a child is separated from their parent or husband from his wife, I cry. I cry even harder at the reunions. I am grateful to help in this small way. (At least it makes me feel like I'm helping the families.) They are really the ones helping all of us. Here are a few images from two recent sessions. One home coming and one deployment. The man in the top few images is still deployed. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
Take care,
jamie

A real life HERO!

ed

Yesterday Jen and Greg from Croft and Campbell Photography drove with me to a homecoming in Saginaw. Now for anyone who does not live in Michigan, the roads were bad and Saginaw is a 2 hour drive on a good day from us. On the way to the homecoming we saw so many cars slide off the road, hit the wall of the expressway, stuck in the snow...you get it. The soldier I photographed was on his fifth, yes you heard me correctly, fifth deployment! They were gone for a year. I am so thankful for people and families like them. Without them we would live in a very different America. I of course cried as I was shooting. Dad's meeting their children for the first time, moms getting hugs from their children for the first time in a year, proud fathers relieved to see their sons walking through the doors knowing their sons were safe for the first time in 12 months. I can't explain the feeling of the room. Here are just a few of my instant favorites. I'm sure I will be posting more.

To the Davis family - Thank you so very much & Merry Christmas!

I have photographed one homecoming of 100 Marines before I was an official oplove photographer. It was so emotional. I have to tell you I was crying along with the families being reunited and hoping I was capturing great shots. I have received the nicest calls, letters and thanks yous from these families regarding their photos. I was stunned, I thought I was the one trying to say thank you! This is a wonderful organization to be a part of and I'm glad I was accepted!

Anyone in need near Metro Detroit, please contact me.
Jamie

PS I have also had a call recently from a Marine's mom saying her son did not receive his CD yet. They have been completed and delivered for sometime now. If you are still waiting, I apologize and will find out what is the delay.

You can check out some of the images by clicking on homecoming at the bottom of this post

Selfridge Homecoming CDs are completed

I am finally finished working on the cds. They are burned, they have labels, they are in their cases and they have their inside sleeves. I did not expect this project to consume this much time, but I wanted to offer the quality product my clients expect to receive. I will be mailing out the copies tomorrow for everyone who has contacted me and the rest of the cds will be delivered next week. If you have any questions regarding printing please contact me at 586-855-6549. I have included a gift certificate in every CD. Here is a sneak peak.

Operation: Love Reunited

I am please to announce that I am an approved photographer for Operation: Love Reunited. It is a wonderful organization for service members who will be deploying or are currently deployed. This organization gathers volunteer photographers to photograph military families.

I will photograph your family before you deploy or during your deployment and send a 4x5 album with the entire session included to you overseas. Our deployed military request photos from home more than anything else. Also when you return a bonus session, I will be there to capture your homecoming. You will receive a 4x5 album of this session too. I guarantee, you will not be able to view these albums without crying. Two sessions and a 4x5 album from each session is the required package from Operation: Love Reunited. These albums and sessions are a value of $990. Also as my thank you to you, I will also give you an additional 10% off any prints you choose to order. If you would like more information on Operation: Love Reunited check out their website at www.oplove.com or contact Jamie Fodale Photography at 586-855-6549.

Thank you to all of our men and women fighting for freedom.

Homecoming

Hi all! I have finished editing the photos from the homecoming at Selfridge. I still have to compile the files and burn the 100 CDs. I will still need a little more time before they will be ready for distribution.

As I mentioned before my sister Amanda went with me. I had an extra camera so when families were reuniting she took some pretty great photos herself. Here are some of my favorite photos she captured.

Thanks again kid!

I want to send a message to the service members and their families, I am still working on compiling all of the photos I took of the homecoming. I have tons of images to go through. I retouch each image myself to be sure it is the best quality I can provide. I'm about 1/2 way through editing the images and then it will take some time for me to burn the cd's. I will keep my blog updated on the progress as I have received a few phone calls regarding the cds. Please do not hesitate to call or email me I just wanted to let you know I have not forgot about you and I am still working on this project. I am as anxious to give you these images as you are to get them. For now I leave you with a few more of my recent favorites.

The homecoming of 100 Heros

I love to be involved in my comunity. When I was asked to photograph the homecoming of 100 Marines, how could I pass? The orginazers of the homecoming event were seeking donations from all over the Metro Detroit area. It was the perfect opportunity to get involved. I donated my time and talent and I will also give each of the service members a cd of the images I captured. I have recently applied to help the chairty www.oplove.org. They are a fantastic organization for service members being deployed. This event was along the lines of Operation Love but, on a much bigger scale; usually I would only be photographing 1 family, not 100. The day was perfect, the anticipation, the excitment and of course the reunion of families. It was such a treat. Here are only a handful of images I have completed.
I must say a big thank you to my sister Amanda, without her, I would have been lost and she captured some pretty great images herself! Thank you sis!
